Urban Cowboy

My image, URBAN COWBOY, was juried in this year's Slow Exposure's photo festival.

My love for genuine portraits has always been an underlying source of inspiration with photography. After returning from a weekend full of viewing some inspirational portrait work of other photographers, and to see my work hanging alongside theirs, it felt like a sense of accomplishment.

Being a part of Slow Exposures 20th anniversary photo festival was a very competitive process. Out of 800 submissions, only 68 photographers were selected for this year's festival. I was one of those 68.

Finding your niche can make all the difference when discovering your value. Just because the general public wants to see pretty photos does not always mean it is what I am called to shoot. I truly believe that being called to do things differently can sometimes make more of an impact than blending in at times with all of the other photography out there.
