I have literally spent the past three years building a new portfolio. I wanted work that was more conversational. I wanted work that could be looked into, not work that was just made to be looked at.
I wanted work that would be timeless with age, not work focused on trending presets and poses. I wanted to shoot with more intention. Because I had a vision and a goal.. it helped give me motivation and drive to not stray or become distracted from this plan. This whole process has allowed me to expand my ideas on what photography is.
Photography is so much more than just what you see on the surface. It has the power to keep a moment alive and preserve more than what you look like but what you felt during a certain day and time too. Photography can both create a false reality of perfection as much as it can document reality. The choice is always yours.
