McClellan Madness

3.05.22

The 1st annual trail race for Dirty Soles Trail Races was held at Fort McClellan in Anniston this past weekend and I was fortunate enough to document it.

I have been actively involved with an ultra trail runner's group over the past handful of years to which it has helped me successfully complete a couple of marathons and dozens of half marathons and other races over the years. Because of a bone spur that I developed with my last marathon training cycle, I haven't been able to run competitively this past year but I have found other ways to become involved.

One of the main ways I have kept plugged into the running community is through my photography and am thankful for the race coordinator of DIRTY SOLES TRAIL RACES, for recognizing my work and having me join in with the documentation of the first MCCLELLAN MADNESS 4 and 8 hour endurance run.

I loved seeing all the runners challenge themselves and go the distance. There were so many of my friends out there running it that it made me want to get out there with them again soon!

The turn out was amazing.. and that is one thing I have learned from other runners and that is their drive to push themselves and encourage and support others. It's a community that I am really proud to be a part of as it is always reminding me to be the best version of myself I can be and to never settle for anything less than what I am capable of.
